What is Antivert and why is it prescribed? Antivert, an antihistamine, is prescribed for the management of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness associated with motion sickness. Antivert may also be prescribed for the management of vertigo due to diseases affecting the vestibular system. Antivert may cause you to become drowsy or less alert. How should you take Antivert? Follow your doctors directions for taking Antivert. If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time. Store Antivert away from heat, light, and moisture. Are there any Antivert side effects? Antivert side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. More common Antivert side effects may include drowsiness and dry mouth. Rare Antivert side effects may include blurred vision. What are the possible food and drug interactions when taking Antivert? If Antivert is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Be sure to inform your doctor of all the prescription and over the counter medications you are taking. Antivert may intensify the effects of alcohol. Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication. Are there any special warnings about Antivert? If you have asthma, glaucoma, or an enlarged prostate gland, check with your doctor before using Antivert. |
