What is Benzashave and why is it prescribed?
Benzashave is used to treat acne. Benzashave can be used alone or with other treatments, including antibiotics and products that contain retinoic acid, sulfur, or salicylic acid. Significant clearing of the skin should occur after 2 to 3 weeks of treatment with Benzashave.

How should you take Benzashave?
Follow your doctors directions for taking Benzashave. Cleanse the affected area thoroughly before applying the medication. Benzashave should then be gently rubbed in. If you miss a dose apply it as soon as you remember. After that go back to your regular schedule. Store Benzashave at room temperature.

Are there any Benzashave side effects?
Benzashave side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Benzashave side effects may include allergic reaction and excessive drying.

What are the possible food and drug interactions when taking Benzashave?
If Benzashave is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Be sure to inform your doctor of all the prescription and over the counter medications you are taking. Benzashave may cause temporary skin discoloration when used with sunscreens containing PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid).

Are there any special warnings about Benzashave?
Benzashave is for external use only. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, lips, or throat. If Benzashave does touch these areas accidentally, rinse with water. If you are sensitive to medications derived from benzoic acid or to cinnamon, you may also be sensitive to Benzashave. If your skin becomes severely irritated, stop using Benzashave and call your doctor. Benzashave can bleach or discolor hair or colored fabric. Stay out of the sun as much as possible and use a sunscreen.
