Hydergine

What is Hydergine and why is it prescribed?
Hydergine helps relieve symptoms of declining mental capacity, thought to be related to aging or dementia, seen in some people over age 60. It may take several weeks or more for Hydergine to produce noticeable results. In fact, your doctor may need up to 6 months to determine whether the drug is right for you. Keep taking your regular doses even if you feel no effect.

How should you take Hydergine?
Follow your doctors directions for taking Hydergine. If you miss a dose skip the dose you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once. If you miss 2 or more doses in a row, consult your doctor. Store Hydergine at room temperature. Protect from heat and light. Do not freeze capsules or oral solution.

Are there any Hydergine side effects?
Hydergine side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Hydergine side effects may include temporary nausea and upset stomach.

What are the possible food and drug interactions when taking Hydergine?
If Hydergine is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Be sure to inform your doctor of all the prescription and over the counter medications you are taking. No interactions have been reported.

Are there any special warnings about Hydergine?
Since the symptoms treated with Hydergine are of unknown origin and may change or evolve into a specific disease, your doctor will make a careful diagnosis before prescribing Hydergine and then watch closely for any changes in your condition.
