What is Meclizine and why is it prescribed?
Meclizine is an antihistamine prescribed for the management of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness associated with motion sickness. Meclizine may also be prescribed for the management of vertigo due to diseases affecting the vestibular system. Meclizine may cause you to become drowsy or less alert.

How should you take Meclizine?
Follow your doctors directions for taking Meclizine. If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time. Store Meclizine away from heat, light, and moisture.

Are there any Meclizine side effects?
Meclizine side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. More common Meclizine side effects may include drowsiness and dry mouth. Rare Meclizine side effects may include blurred vision.

What are the possible food and drug interactions when taking Meclizine?
If Meclizine is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Be sure to inform your doctor of all the prescription and over the counter medications you are taking. Meclizine may intensify the effects of alcohol. Do not drink alcohol while taking Meclizine.

Are there any special warnings about Meclizine?
If you have asthma, glaucoma, or an enlarged prostate gland, check with your doctor before using Meclizine.
