What is Urispas and why is it prescribed?
Urispas prevents spasms in the urinary tract and relieves the painful or difficult urination, urinary urgency, excessive nighttime urination, pubic area pain, frequency of urination, and inability to hold urine caused by urinary tract infections. Urispas is taken in combination with antibiotics to treat the infection. Urispas can cause blurred vision and drowsiness.

How should you take Urispas?
Follow your doctors directions for taking Urispas. Urispas may make your mouth dry. Sucking on a hard candy, chewing gum, or melting bits of ice in your mouth can provide relief. If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once. Store Urispas away from heat, light, and moisture.

Are there any Urispas side effects?
Urispas side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Urispas side effects may include allergic skin reactions, including hives, blurred vision and vision changes, drowsiness, dry mouth, fluttery heartbeat, headache, high body temperature, mental confusion, nausea, nervousness, painful or difficult urination, rapid heartbeat, vertigo, and vomiting.

What are the possible food and drug interactions when taking Urispas?
If Urispas is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Be sure to inform your doctor of all the prescription and over the counter medications you are taking. No interactions involving Urispas have been noted.

Are there any special warnings about Urispas?
Use Urispas cautiously if you have the eye condition known as glaucoma.
